Here, we will examine how the characters are developed. We will analyze the characters by answering the questions: What does the character's actions reveal about him/her? What does what he/she says reveal? What does what other characters say about him/her reveal?
John
He has more of the adventures side to him, and he is willing to take risks. He reveals that he has a drinking problem along with his smoking addiction. Lorraine describes his physical appearance in chapter 2 paragraph 3.
His actions reveal that he tends to lie about things so he may not be a person to trust. It revels on how he was brought up in his house by his parents and they did not set good examples . Lorraine says that he should learn to stop lying and that he was taught by his parents. Also she thinks he should stop his bad habits.
A physical trait of John is that he has gorgeous, big eyes.
A personality trait of of John is he is a trouble maker.
A quote from the line that helps me explain this is "He has gigantic eyes that look right threw you, especially if he's in the middle of one of his everyday lies. And drinks and smokes more than any boy I ever heard of.

This shows he is dishonest because he knows that he is taking the old mans money but it doesn't matter to him because he wants it for beer and smokes.

John is starting to enjoy how Mr.Pignati likes animals and how he lives. He feels connected to him more than he feels connected to his father.
Lorraine
Her Mom says she's not very pretty. She is very well behaved because the book says she doesn't like cussing or smoking. Loraine has paranoia. It used to be worse before she met John and the pigman, but now she feels like she has someone to watch her back.
Her actions show that she is not very self confident. She thinks that no one really cares or finds her as a treat to other guys. She says that she thinks she is fat and unattractive. This reveal that her mother isn't very supportive and can be mean at times. Her mother says that shes "not Miss America" when she is talking to Lorraine. Even though she isn't very self confident she is learning to be more confident. She says that "I'm not the obobminal snowman" in response to her mothers statement.
Mr. Pignati he is very lonely because his wife died and his best friend (bobo) the monkey lives in the zoo. He used to be an electrician.

He got his wife the very first pig in his pig room.It is white and also has a rainbow colored pig. It was something so that it will remind her of him. It has a big smile on its face.
His wife is gone visiting his sister in California, so the kids think but she really died. He is a huge fan of collecting pigs. he has a whole room filled with them.
Buehler
He is a lonely man. He is always telling little jokes and making long conversations with Lorraine and John, because he likes the company. This constant need to talk reveals that he is lonely and needs someone to talk to. His actions show that he is in need of attention and he will do a lot to keep this attention such as giving money and going to the zoo. He collects pigs.
Lorraine's mom
Lorraine's mom is a private nurse.She is also mean and donsen't want Lorraine to hang around men, because lorraine's dad cheated on her mom.
She is worried about lorraine getting into a relationship because she doesn't want her to be played.
She clearly has a a problem letting Lorraine have any self confidence at all.
She is a nurse and is constantly putting down Lorraine.
She also needs lots of help at home such as cleaning the house.
John's Mom Is mean and yells at him a lot, she likes things to be very neat and clean.
John's Dad

He very stressed and things set him off easily. Like one time he called the house and the phone was busy so he got mad and put a lock on the phone.
